Coarse sand
There are many types of raw materials used in construction, and “sand” is considered the main raw material commonly used in construction. Sand is composed of quartz or basalt, which are small hard rocks that break off from larger rocks. The sand breaks off on its own, which is why sand is chosen as an ingredient in construction materials, especially “coarse sand”, which is an ingredient in almost every construction project today.

What is coarse sand?
Coarse sand is sand that has the largest grains of all types of sand and contains gravel or fine rock fragments. Coarse sand has angular and angled grains, making it quite strong and having high resistance. Coarse sand suitable for construction has a coarseness value of approximately 2.4 - 2.8 FM.
Properties of good coarse sand
- Good coarse sand must have large grains, beveled and have angles that give it a crumbly quality, allowing air to pass through and allowing the sand grains to flow easily.
- Good coarse sand must have large sand grains and be quite strong, so it is mainly used in structural construction to increase strength.
- Good coarse sand must have higher resistance than other types of sand to be used as a concrete ingredient to reduce cracking in wall construction.
- Good coarse sand must not contain soil in the sand so that it can be mixed with cement.
- Good coarse sand must go through a production process that meets quality and reliable production standards.
- Good coarse sand must have an FM size of approximately 2.4 – 2.8, which is the most suitable size for use in construction.
- Good coarse sand must be clean, free from dirt and impurities, have a fine sand texture and a beautiful sand color.
- Good coarse sand must not contain any sea sand, salt water or brackish water at all to prevent rust in the structure.
What type of construction work is coarse sand used for?
Coarse sand is sand that is suitable for use as a concrete ingredient that requires high strength resistance, such as in bridge structures, reinforced concrete buildings, earth dams, or important foundation structures such as columns or beams. Therefore, it can be used in general construction work, such as houses or tall buildings in cities as we see today.
Source of purchase of coarse sand
Good coarse sand suitable for construction must meet the standards and not contain any impurities in the coarse sand grains. Therefore, it must go through several steps in the coarse sand production process, such as selecting the quality and size of the sand grains, and cleaning the sand grains to remove any excess soil or dust. We have selected coarse sand for sale at prices starting at only 210 baht/ton (in the eastern region) and 100 baht/ton (in Nakhon Ratchasima province), along with dump trailer trucks with a load capacity of 28-30 tons/trailer, ready to serve everyone to make your construction work as efficient as possible.
